SAP-N-SCHOOL

6 Years ago I approached my director and asked about tapping a few Maple Trees on campus. The answer was “I have been waiting for years for this to happen, get whatever you need.” What started out as a few taps on a few trees and boiling in a pot has grown into 50 taps, an evaporator in our sandbox and over 200 guests to the annual Maine Maple Sunday Event which is state wide event. Last year we made 15 gallons of syrup which means we collected over 600 gallons of sap using 5 gallon buckets and a Civil War Ammo cart- steel wheels and all. Here are a few photos that span the years. For an in-depth description please read: http://bugsmudbooksandsticks.com/so-full-of-sap/
